SUMMARY:Different\, Not Less: Supporting Individuals with Autism and Neurodiversity in the Community\, Classroom and Workforce
DESCRIPTION:Neurodiversity\, including autism and other neurological differences\, is being diagnosed in increasing numbers. Knowing how to support autistic and neurodivergent individuals is essential for them to be successful and safe in the community\, classroom and the workforce. In this session\, we will gain a better understanding of autism and other neurodiversities as well as provide tools and strategies to help autistic and neurodivergent individuals be successful in the classroom\, the community and the workforce. We will also share ASERT’s resources and how to access resources to support individuals with autism and their families.

SUMMARY:Assessing Strengths and Treatment Planning
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is designed for providers looking to enhance their strength-based approach to treatment planning with clients. Participants will explore tangible methods for assessing client strengths\, abilities\, and assets through a framework of Recovery Capital. Participants will consider the current best practices of person-centered treatment planning within a S-M-A-R-T goal framework that emphasizes not only a client’s needs and concerns\, but also the client’s internal and external assets. The training targets clinicians who provide micro and macro level services to clients in their community. Training experience will be highly interactive with ample opportunity for learning and refining skills through video demonstration\, and a mock case-conceptualization exercise.
